Everyone's talking about this book!Book Give Your Dog a Bone Review :
This book has been very helpful to me as our new puppy came to us eating raw food. I wanted to try raw food with him for a couple of reasons. The first one is that we have had two of our standard poodles bloat and it is possible that raw food can prevent this horrible health issue which effects a dog for the rest of his/her life. Raw food doesn’t swell like a grain-based kibble. Raw food is also more completely digested and doesn’t hang around in the stomach potentially allowing bloat. This has not been clinically proven, but the rationale makes sense to me.Secondly, he is so healthy and growing well. He has had no stomach problems of any kind and he is 4 1/2 months old. Our poodles had stomach issues from the beginning. He sleeps well, eats well, and enjoys life. Also chewing bones regularly helps dental health. Finally, Give Your Dog a Bone seems to just make sense to me. This is how wild dogs eat.In closing, it is very important to educate yourself in feeding your dog raw food. Seek vets who support this way of feeding and find others who have chosen this path. The more you learn the better your dogs health will be. When starting a raw diet with your dog I think its important to read ALL the info out there. This is one of the books out there that is most popular. I read it, and took a few things from it, but ultimately feed how I feel is best (I dont do veggies). This book and quite a few others helped me gain the confidence to finally switch from kibble to raw, and its was the best thing I ever did for my dogs. Dogaware.com is a great site for reliable info as well.
